Telehealth Announcement

Starting Tuesday Mar. 17th and effective until further notice, all therapy sessions will be conducted REMOTELY.

Don’t worry y’all. It’s super easy to transition our work online. My hope is that by offering remote sessions you will continue to receive the help, guidance, validation, and connection you need during this stressful time. Considering that so many of us are already working from home/self-isolating, it seems appropriate to shift our meetings to a secure and convenient online platform.

As the effects of this global health crisis expand into our local communities and ripple into our daily lives, I strongly encourage you to maintain (or even step up!) your self-care practices and to prioritize your mental health and well-being. Here’s one tip: please be mindful of your news intake and consider taking a break from the news a few hours before bedtime. Getting good sleep will boost your immune system and lower stress hormone levels.

What you need to know for upcoming sessions:

  • Appointments will continue at your regularly scheduled day/time and will last for the usual length of 50 minutes

  • If you need to change your appointment day/time, please contact me directly and we can reschedule. It’s no big deal, and I’m happy to accommodate if my schedule permits.

  • A few minutes before your session, click on the Zoom link emailed to you.

  • You will be directed to a “waiting room” until I log on to greet you.

  • Backup plan: If technical issues arise, we can just talk over the phone without video (old school 90s style).

  • In the first few minutes of our session, I will go over what to do in case of technical difficulties.

  • Tips for a successful remote session:

    • Make sure your device is fully charged or charging

    • Wear headphones

    • Make sure you’re connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network

    • Find a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted (although pet cameos are most definitely welcome!)

One way to regulate our nervous systems during times of stress is to seek the stabilizing, grounding force of a healthy relationship. I encourage you to stay in touch with me and other positive, supportive people in your life. I’m so grateful we have the technology to stay connected despite being physically apart.

We are all doing the best we can to flow with current events and not get swallowed up by fear. Whatever is showing up for you in this moment (could be anything from straight up panic to total nonchalance) let’s try welcoming it with openness and curiosity. If there was ever a time to put those wonderful mindfulness skills into practice, it’s now!

Please know that I care deeply about each and every one of you. Together we will arrive in this moment with full, courageous hearts and the determination to carry on. Please reach out with any questions or concerns, and know that I’m here for you always.
